Isao Takahata, one of the early founders of Studio Ghibli, died today, as confirmed by this ANN article. The Tale of Princess Kaguya is one of my absolute favorite movies that he worked on. I also own Only Yesterday on DVD, and I do have to admit that I really didn't like Pom Poko. Anime has lost yet another great person that revolutionized it. Rest in peace, Takahata. Your legacy will not be forgotten, and your movies will live on forever.
