...OR WAS IT?!
Now imagine peoples' surprise when out of freaking nowhere, in May 2020, it was announced that Inu Yasha would be getting a distant sequel anime focusing on the main casts' children and descandants called Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. And keep in mind, this sequel is a completely original project not adapting any manga in any way (And by original project, I mean that Yashahime didn't start as a manga and then get adapted into an anime. I mean that Yashahime is a completely anime original project based on Inu Yasha). Of course, Rumiko Takahashi herself is overseeing the anime, and as of right now, it's currently airing with both subs and dubs coming out consistently. I ask you: Who the HELL expected this to ever happen?! I know I sure didn't! And it's being produced with the world being hit with COVID right now. Seeing as I've never been a fan of Inu Yasha myself, I have no interest in seeing it, but seeing as how the franchise has endured after all this time, I'm sure Inu Yasha fans are pretty happy to have something new to look forward to.
Moment #10: Inu Yasha getting an anime original sequel years after both its anime and manga have concluded.
